Privacy and cookies
This page explains what DiscoverAirports collects when you visit, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Page counters: we count visits per page per day without cookies and without storing your IP address or any identifier. We note whether a visit came from a search engine.
- Traveler reports: when you submit a report we store its content, the time and a one-way hash of your IP address and browser to limit abuse. We do not store your IP address in readable form. We remove links, emails and phone numbers from report text.
- Security cookie: a random cookie protects forms from cross-site forgery. It does not identify you.
- Server logs: our host keeps standard access logs for security and troubleshooting for a short period.
Advertising and analytics cookies
We may show ads from Google AdSense and may use Google Analytics. These services set cookies or similar identifiers to deliver and measure ads and to understand usage. They load only if you accept them in the cookie banner. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we do not load them without your consent. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Google uses advertising cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can learn how Google uses data and manage ad personalization in your Google account ad settings, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of interest-based advertising by participating companies.
Affiliate links
Links marked as sponsored lead to partner sites. When you click one we count the click on our server. The partner may set its own cookies once you arrive on its site. See the affiliate disclosure for details.
Third-party services
Spam protection on report forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes browser signals to tell people from bots. Fonts and scripts for the site are served from our own domain.
Your rights
Because we do not keep personal data that can identify you, there is usually nothing to access or delete. If you think we hold something about you, contact us and we will look into it. Depending on where you live you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell personal information.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
