Checkpoints and tips
Both terminal checkpoints open at 3:30 a.m. Terminal 2 closes at 12:45 a.m., and Terminal 4 closes at 11:45 p.m. TSA PreCheck and CLEAR are both available. The airport notes that TSA may not always keep the PreCheck lane open because of passenger flow.
- CLEAR kiosks are open every day in Terminals 2 and 4, and you can sign up for CLEAR there before your flight.
- PreCheck enrollment is available onsite with no appointment, in partnership with CLEAR. Existing members can renew on site.
- PreCheck use has doubled since onsite enrollment began. In August 2026, 26% of departing passengers were using it, and as many as half in Terminal 4 at peak times.
- A third-party guide says waits are usually under 20 minutes off-peak but can exceed 30 minutes at busy times. Check current wait times before you leave.
