Charlotte, North Carolina KCLT #11 US airport by passengers
About 6 miles west of Uptown Charlotte.
Charlotte is a connecting airport first. The great majority of passengers are transferring, and the layout reflects that: a single terminal building with five concourses (A through E), all inside security and joined by moving walkways and shuttles.
The big advantage for travelers is the short distance to the city and the simple layout. The airport is close to Uptown, and the terminal curb is easy to understand. The rocking chairs in the lobby are a local tradition.
Main airlines: American Airlines runs one of its largest hubs here and accounts for the vast majority of flights.
The FAA is not reporting a ground stop, ground delay program or other delay at CLT right now.
