How to Save Money on Airport Parking

Updated October 8, 2026

Airport parking prices vary widely by lot, season and trip length. A few choices usually make the biggest difference.

Choose the right lot type

Short-term and hourly parking close to the terminal is priced for drop-offs and is rarely the right choice for a trip. Economy and park-and-ride lots cost less per day in exchange for a shuttle ride. Off-airport operators can be cheaper still, but check shuttle frequency and reviews.

Book ahead and compare

Airport-run lots can sell out during holidays, and pre-booked rates are often lower than drive-up rates. Compare the daily maximum on the airport website against third-party booking sites, and read the cancellation rules.

Watch the extras

Taxes, facility fees and minimum charges can add noticeably to the daily rate. Valet services and covered parking are priced separately. Compare the total, not the headline daily price.

Do the rideshare math

For short trips parking can be cheaper. For long trips, or when you would need a distant lot, rideshare or a train can win. Our calculator compares both for your trip.
