Eastern Iowa Airport (CID) completed a decade-long terminal modernization in 2026. The project expanded the gates, added four passenger boarding bridges, enlarged the TSA checkpoint and modernized the landside areas.
CID is a single-terminal airport with one security checkpoint and free Wi-Fi throughout the building.

The TSA checkpoint exit, the gates and expanded holdrooms, the High Porch Sports Bar and Restaurant, the Java House and Fly Zone kiosks, and two outdoor patios.
CID is a single terminal, so there is no transfer between buildings. Gates are reached after the one security checkpoint.
Both companies are listed on the airport's ground transportation page. ACS also runs scheduled shuttles between CID and Dubuque Regional Airport (DBQ) and can drop you at the airline ticket counter.

The terminal building is open 24 hours a day. The TSA checkpoint closes overnight and reopens at about 3:45 a.m., so overnight travelers must stay in the pre-security area until then.
It is in the terminal near Guest Services, on the north wall. It is open Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment, and sessions take about 10 minutes.
There is no commercial airline lounge. The public lobby has an open-access business area with workstations near the rental car desks, and a conference room can be rented before security.
ACS runs scheduled shuttles between CID and Dubuque Regional Airport, with advance reservations. Passengers from Dubuque can park for free at DBQ and ride to Cedar Rapids.
The long-term lot at $11 per day is the lower-cost option. Park for the first 20 minutes free, and use Fly Through Parking to exit without a ticket.
About 801,353 passengers boarded flights at The Eastern Iowa Airport in 2025, according to FAA enplanement data. That ranks it number 114 among US airports.
Over May 2026 to July 2026, 18.7% of departures at CID left 15 or more minutes late, and 1.50% of flights were cancelled (Bureau of Transportation Statistics).
