Newark Liberty is one of the three major New York area airports and the main airport for New Jersey. It is the closest of the three to many parts of New Jersey and has direct train service to Penn Station in Manhattan.
The airport has three terminals, A, B and C. Terminal A is the newest, opened in 2023. Terminal C is mostly United. AirTrain Newark connects the terminals, parking and the Newark Liberty International Airport Station on the Northeast Corridor.

AirTrain Newark is a free monorail that links all three terminals with the parking lots and the rail station. Inside security, terminals are not generally connected, so plan your connection time accordingly if you need to change terminals.
AirTrain goes to Newark Liberty International Airport Station, where NJ Transit and Amtrak trains run to New York Penn Station and other destinations along the Northeast Corridor.
Express buses run to Manhattan and regional NJ Transit buses serve nearby areas.
Taxi and rideshare pick-up is in designated areas. Tolls and traffic on the approach to Manhattan can be significant.
Take AirTrain Newark to the rail station, then NJ Transit or Amtrak to New York Penn Station. Buses and taxis are other options.
