Getting to and from Wilmington International Airport (ILM)

Wilmington, North Carolina KILM #108 US airport by passengers

Train, bus, shuttle, rideshare and rental cars at ILM.

Ways to reach ILM

  • Rideshare and taxi

    Temporary curb front

During construction, drop-off and pickup use the temporary curb front. The airport lists local taxi, limo and ride-sharing companies on its ground transportation page. A new commercial drop-off curb for taxis and rideshare is part of the curb project, expected in spring 2027.

  • Bus

    Wave Transit RideMICRO

Wave Transit serves ILM through RideMICRO, an on-demand shared ride service within zones in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties. Book through the RideMICRO app, the web portal or by phone. The fare is $2 per person one way, and rides can connect to Wave Transit fixed routes (bus fare is separate).

  • Rental car

    Rental car lot

The airport says a new rental car lot is open; see the airport lot map for its location. A new rental car facility is also part of the capital plan.

  • Pickup waiting

    Cell phone lot

People picking up passengers can wait in the cell phone lot, to the right off Airport Blvd., and then move to the curb once the traveler is ready. Unattended vehicles at the curb are ticketed or towed.
