North Terminal (Concourse D)
The largest concourse, mainly American Airlines.
Miami, Florida KMIA #9 US airport by passengers
About 8 miles west of downtown Miami, just north of Doral.
Miami is one of the main gateways between the United States and Latin America, and the flight mix shows it: a high share of international passengers, many on long-haul and Caribbean routes. The terminal is one long building with concourses D through J.
The big practical point is that international arrivals take time. Immigration queues can be long when several widebody flights land together, so do not book the tightest connection.
Main airlines: American Airlines runs a large hub with a strong focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. Many international airlines serve the airport.
The FAA is not reporting a ground stop, ground delay program or other delay at MIA right now.

Concourses are linked by long corridors with moving walkways, so a change between far ends of the terminal can take a while on foot. Check the signs for the quickest route and leave time for it.
