How delays work at MEM

A ground stop holds flights bound for MEM at their origin airports. A ground delay program spaces arrivals out so the airport is not overloaded. Departure and arrival delay messages describe the average wait the FAA expects. None of these tell you whether your own flight is late, so always check your airline as well.

Local tips

  • Use the right ticketing lobby. United checks in at C Ticketing, and Allegiant, American, Breeze, Delta, Frontier and Southwest check in at B Ticketing. A Ticketing is closed.
  • If you are flying Southern Airways Express, go to the Signature Flight Support building rather than the main terminal.
  • Pickup and drop-off locations have been changed during the roadway reconstruction, which the airport expects to be substantially complete in 2027. Look at the posted signs and the airport map, and use the free Cell Phone Lot if you are collecting someone.
  • You will still see the old name on some signs, maps and websites. The code on your ticket is still MEM.
  • The airport says walking from parking uses walkways with moving sidewalks, so you do not need a shuttle for the Economy garage.
